Twickenham Stadium donates carpet to local church
To start the New Year on the right footings, Twickenham Stadium donated 1,440 square meters of excess carpet to a local church in Hounslow.
The carpet which was excess left over from the refurbishment of the East Stand in 2018 has been in storage just waiting to be used and St Luke's mission church in Hounslow seemed like the perfect fit.
Rev Elis Matthews, St Mary's & St Luke's, stated: "We are so grateful to Twickenham Stadium for their amazing generosity. We now have a gorgeous new carpet throughout our building, which is used for community activities such as English classes and the clothing bank. We would never have been able to afford such a refurbishment without this support, and this will enable us to do more to help those in need as we seek to open our facilities more and share God's love at the heart of Hounslow East."
Gary Cargill, Director of Catering Services, Twickenham Stadium: "Being in a position to reutilise an asset to help breathe new life into a building that has such a great impact on the local community is something we at Twickenham are always proud and happy to support."
