Case Study: HYROX Coaches Summit at Allianz Stadium
When HYROX set out to deliver its first-ever Coaches Summit, the ambition was clear: bring together a global community, elevate coaching standards, and create an experience that felt as high-performance as the sport itself. For Vicky Mahony, Senior Project Manager at HYROX Academy, the venue for the event was a crucial factor, but needed to do more than just host, it needed to become part of the story of the event. She said, "HYROX is a sport. It is a fitness race for everybody. And we wanted a location that would inspire coaches travelling from all over the world… and create an atmosphere that was truly inspiring."
The brief: global community, high-performance learning
The inaugural summit welcomed over 400 coaches, athletes and partners from across the world for two days of education and connection. With more than 35 sessions and 25+ speakers, the programme was deliberately varied: lectures, panels, workshops and practical activations, designed to mirror the diversity of the HYROX training ecosystem. "This is the first ever time that we have brought together HYROX coaches from around the world… so they can connect and learn together and take their learnings back to their clubs and athletes globally," added Vicky.
For an international audience, accessibility was critical. With Heathrow Airport on the doorstep and Gatwick Airport within easy reach, an onsite hotel, and a short distance to HYROX London at Olympia, Allianz Stadium offered a straightforward journey for global delegates, reducing friction on arrival and ensuring energy was focused where it mattered.
The solution: a venue that mirrors the message
At Allianz Stadium, the environment naturally reflects the values HYROX stands for: performance, wellbeing, and collective experience.
"We wanted somewhere iconic and inspirational… and Allianz Stadium offered us that."
Using the South Stand as a multi-space environment, the event was able to flex across formats seamlessly. Lecture theatres supported structured learning, workshop spaces encouraged interaction, and practical sessions brought theory into action. An innovation hub allowed partners to integrate into the experience, while pitch-side activations created moments that simply couldn't be replicated elsewhere. "We're using a number of different rooms that offer different opportunities… from lecture style to workshops… and also some very exciting pitch-side activations," continued Vicky.
In short, here, the venue didn't just support the event, it amplified it. The connection between a global fitness brand and the Home of England Rugby gave the summit an added layer of meaning, reinforcing these values.
The experience: beyond logistics
What underpinned the event's success was not just the scale or the setting, but the human-led partnership behind it.
From the earliest stages, the Allianz Stadium team worked alongside HYROX to shape the event, bringing their own operational expertise into the planning process. This wasn't simply about delivering on a brief, it was about strengthening it. Ensuring the fundamentals were right. Anticipating challenges. Smoothing complexity.
Vicky continued, "We engaged with the Allianz Stadium team back before Christmas and have worked very closely with them in creating what is today a fantastic event."
That expertise created a stable foundation. The details were handled, the infrastructure worked, and the event flowed. In turn, that gave the HYROX team the space to focus on what mattered most: the content, the community, and the experience they were creating for their audience.
"They've been absolutely fantastic… the help and guidance they've given us, being experts in event management, has been invaluable."
The result is an event that feels effortless on the surface but is underpinned by a depth of planning and collaboration that allows it to perform at a high level which HYROX strives for across all events.
